Numb-er

Remember that high of zero I mentioned? A walk in the tropics that would be. Our high today is 4 below. Yes, four degrees below zero. With a windchill of about 25 below. Good thing I wore lined pants, cuddle duds, and knee socks.

I'm subbing at the High School today, and I lost count of all the kids wearing short sleeves, no coats, no socks. etc. The future leaders of America apparently can't read a thermometer.

On the plus side, the sky is the most incredible blue and the sun on the snow is brilliant.

Trust me, those kids who wear short sleeves and no coats in sub zero weather are not going to live long enough to be future leaders. Their only hope is to reproduce as quickly as possible before they die of exposure or stupidity.

Let me know if I need to ship some extra blankets your way!!! It is snowing here right now...but seriously, I wish Mother Nature wouild make up her mind. Either dump a load then go away or none at all. Even though it appears to be snowing "hard" - nothing is sticking to streets or sidewalks. Now, tonight it is going down to 3 degrees - I will not be outside!

WE were all braced for a "blizzard" as the news weather people hyped it all night yesterday, with whiteout conditions. MizBubs' boss called and told her to be prepared to work the library emergency closing phone tree today, and our youngest was beginning to get excited about the possibility of a snow day...and all we got was 2" of snow and now this crappy -5 weather.

I'm going to start shooting the TV Elvis-style if this keeps up.

SUNNY!!

When I was a kid we begged to wear shorts to school most of the winter.

I used to yell at my kids but they didn't want to listen. Don't they get cold or something? Anyway, my sympathies on your current weather.

I've given up reminding my doltish children that they will be cold if they don't grab a coat.

I got cold just reading your post.

Bundle up girl! Ok, I live in FL and if it gets below 65 some kids are in winter style coats! Others wear shorts year round. Go figure.
