Best Gifts of Childhood #3 and #4

MOUSETRAP! My siblings and I have no earthly idea how to play this game. We would just set it up and run the marble through again and again and again.

I had this exact Crissy doll and loved her with all my heart. I spent hours twirling the knob on her back to ratchet that ponytail back into her head, then pull it all back out again in all it's auburn glory.

I had a Chrissy doll and her little sister, Cinnamon. My sister had Velvet. We loved those dolls so, so much.

We never had Moustrap. I always wanted that and Don't Break the Ice.

Yeah, we never played Mousetrap either, we just rolled the marbles around.

I forgot that doll had such a short dress.

Merry Christmas :)

I had Velvet and Chrissy and I cut their hair. Slowly of course, just a trim here and there but eventually that long pony tail became a little prickly mass on the top of their heads.

We never got mousetrap and my friends who had it never wanted to play it- I should get it for my kids...

oh and I had dresses that short- much like poor Cindy Brady- many saw London, France and my underpants.

Ditto on the Mousetrap. No idea how to play. Just fun to run the contraption.
Janice had a Chrissy doll that was still in my parent's house until it was cleaned out last year. As an adult, I got a little creeped out by the idea of pulliing someones hair out of their head. Sort of a domestic abuse thing. I know, it's just a doll.

I still have that Chrissy doll in the box in our storage room. Our other neighbor, Marcia, had Mia, the brunette version. Chrissy's eyes kind of creep me out: a female version of Chuckie (I'm talking about the murderous doll from the movie, you know. Not the other one.)

I found your blod through Some Days it's not worth chewing through the leather straps. I love your Best Gifts posts! I just did one of those myself. I had too many to post all of my favs, but mousetrap . . I loved that game and I too didn't know how to play but it sure was fun to watch it all work. And the Chrissy doll was one of my favs!! I think I broke the knob. Her hair ended up long forever!

Oh my! What memories. I wasn’t much of a doll girl - more of a tom boy, but I always wanted to look like Barbie when I grew up and my Nana gave me a Chrissy Doll when I was about 8 or 9. I loved it, and played with iit until it’s hair got into a mangled mess. It must have got too hot. We live in Australia and her hair fuzzed a lot; unfortunate, but true. I am in my 50’s and have only just got rid of it. Storage hadn’t been kind.
