Great Speech

My thoughts on Obama's speech: WOW!
(I'd like to put a photo in here but blogspot was being uncooperative.)
He addressed every single issue perfectly. He had us all in the palm of his hand, ready to take up a hammer, a plowshare, or a pen and do the mighty work required to make America great again.
My favorite key points . . .

Quit calling into question the "patriotism" of everyone you disagree with.

Democrats have proven time and again they are perfectly capable of commanding an army and keeping citizens safe. I loved his reference to FDR and JFK.

His focus on common ground really touched a nerve with me.

He was able to lambaste the GOP without going negative or dirty.

America is better than this.

Well, I'm ready. How about you?

So ready! So, so glad I had Thursday night free and could see the speech on TV (was out and busy the other three nights of the DNC!). Felt like a historic moment, for sure.

I've forgotten what it's like to listen to a political speech and actually feel good about it. Eight years of Dubya will do that to a person.

We haven't had a cable hookup to the tv for many years but we're planning to watch the whole speech today online. Thanks for giving me another reason to do so.

Common ground. Now there's a novel concept in American politics. Who was it that ran a few years back on the phrase "I'm a uniter, not a divider." Oh, yeah, that was the W. I actually believed Obama though. Well done.

While I'm less than fully enthusiastic about Obama, he is our candidate and I give him 100% of my support. I won't give him carte blanche, however. We still need to hold his feet to the fire in the issue specifics.
That said, he is waaaaay better than the alternative. No comparison.
