So like Whiskeymarie, last year I had to interview for my own job. And like her, I got it back and thoroughly enjoyed it. I mean I really REALLY like this job. However today I've been told it's being hacked into several pieces none of which is benefits eligible.
So it's back to job searching. Perhaps I can find something part-time and mix it with the jumble of shattered pieces that used to be my job. I would really like to be reasonably well-employed, and not have to hold my breath all year long while budgets and decision are hammered out. Too much to ask I guess.

SUCK ASS!! That is my immediate reaction. I am hoping for an interview next week from my own district for a full time position but in talking to the principal I am thinking he's hoping for a licensed teacher to take this job for para pay. I hate this economy and I hate the unfairness of it all.
Since I am filing divorce papers in the next couple months I will be without health insurance and I am trying to avoid the negative feelings that come from thinking about it. Stress causes illness and I just can't get ill!!
good thoughts your way- we can get together for hot water as coffee will probably be out of both our reach soon. =)
Oh that sucks! I am so sorry they did that to you.
It has got to be tough living under that constant job stress. I'm sending good vibes your way.
It gets damn old...scraping by, feeling a bit bruised and battered by the system.
This just blows. I mean really. When good honest hard working people can't find work it just don't make no sense.
When someone like you, who is making a difference in the lives of others, can't work and folks like John Boehner has a job... you realize THAT LIFE AIN'T FAIR.
We gone all have to pray.
That's why I clock in at this job every day and smile until ti's time to go home. Whether I like it here or not, I've gotta deal with it... cause the pickings out there are slim to none.
I don't know what our kids are going to do.
I don't understand why you would have to interview for your own job. Are your employers too stupid to remember your performance?
Bastards!
I totally understand. Though I retained my OWN job (and had to answer questions like, "how do you think you would do teaching at an inner-city community college?" when I have already been doing that for SIX AND A HALF YEARS, DUMMIES!), I will be losing my "overload" credits by spring, therefore taking a sizable pay cut. Yay, me.
I totally understand the stress. I feel for you, my dear.
How are your cooking skillz? We need a part-time instructor come January. ;)
