Crazy Busy

I'm still here! But with three jobs, a soccer team to manage, and my mommy duties I've been scary busy for the past two weeks. Like my favorite line in Steel Magnolias - "I don't know whether to scratch my watch or wind my butt!". But I've resigned from the soccer team, and will be resigning my little part time job. Then I can devote all my energy to my WONDERFUL new job and my kids. But for now, stress is my middle name.

The worst part of our financial crisis is this: my husband and I are snapping at each other. Normally we have a wonderful marriage but lately the strain is showing and we're arguing more. I hate this more than you can imagine. Any suggestions are welcome.

I'm truly beginning to see what the neocons have been plotting for years - and I'm totally serious. I think they WANT to squeeze out the middle class. None of us will quit working for the man. They won't quit raking in the dough. But the difference is that those of us who USED TO BE in the middle class will be so stressed paying for gas, food, medical care, housing, etc that we won't have time or energy to fight THEM. I'm seeing it happen in my own life - I barely have time or money to buy groceries let alone phone my congress rep or take part in a protest.

I have been wondering how you are - glad to see your post.

I am sorry for your trouble. I suspect that I am but a few weeks or months behind you.

And sadly I think you are right about beating us down.

Very sad stuff.

Hang in there.

As my granny would say, you're busier than a one legged man in a butt kicking competition! You probably like me, so busy you ain't bathed since last Wednesday! I've had these same drawers on since Tuesday. Too busy to change! I don't know how you do it girlfriend. Soccer team would be playing air-soccer--cause I would be asleep in the car at a red light. Again, congrats on the new gig!

Take a deep breath and then thank our corporate overlords for the crumbs they give us.

When Husband and I first had fights, we didn't like them and we tried this- Rule: you can yell all you want but you just can't say words. Grunts, groans, moans and other non-sense only- usually we cracked up and got over it. No hurt feelings or regrets over what was said.

We haven't done that in a long time- maybe I should revive that here. We don't fight all that much- we may start the usual fights but then it's like, yah, yah, we've had that one before. And nothing was solved.

I hope things look up for you! Maybe we should just join them since that's where the money is...and then we can destroy them from the inside!!!!!!!

Oh you are in my thoughts! Way to step up and fight for your family. Your daughters should be proud of you.

I had a little side job that I had to take a break for for a couple months and my husband is taking whatever side gigs he can get week by week because we are working to get by and try saving money to START our family life! Working off your theory, perhaps those powers are preventing further procreation in the ranks.

We are new to married life, but we take a time out before we get to the content of an argument. That way we can better plan our strategies...I mean, sort out in our stressed heads what we really need to talk about.

Also, being really busy makes it so time together is cherished and so that there is just plain less time for things to get heated.

I hear you loud and clear. I agree totally about the conspiracy to do away with the middle class. It feels impossible to keep one's head above water when gas is almost $4/gallon. Oh, and same with the busy-ness. I love sheleta's grandma's quote (above)! I laughed out loud! I'm gonna start using that one.

M and I can't have arguments anymore, we never see each other for more than an hour at a time and that hour is filled with the kids activities or sleep anyway. Not the best solution, but it sure works for us!

Looking forward to seeing you all this weekend for Grandma Gie's funeral. Bring alcohol! :)
