Vintage Sisters

Today's vintage photo theme is SISTERS. Sisters are a big theme in my family. My Grandma had four of them, my Mom had two, I had two, and I gave birth to three. There were brothers involved, but anyone who has sisters knows how strong, and sometimes nasty, that bond can be.
I love my own sisters more than I can say - they are my best friends and my biggest supporters.

Above is Cheesecake Maven, Sister #2, and me at the piano. CM did an oil painting of this setting while in high school. CM made me so mad right around this age that I bit a chunk of skin out of her shoulder. Then Mom cried and I felt horrible.

Another quiet evening at home.

CM, Me, and a baby Sister #2.
Whenever I see photos of this couch, I remember when it caught on fire from a fireplace spark. Mom took the smoking cushion outside and my brother and I took turns peeking into the burn hole to see if it was still smoldering.

The sisters I gave birth to.

My SIL (on the right) and her sis - another close pair.

A more recent photo of CM, me, and Sister #2.

I love these posts, too. Did you guys take the sofa cushions off and make a boat out of the sofa? That was a favorite game of ours......

Nice reflection. I wish I felt close to my sister. But I just feel bored by her. There, I was honest.

Sisters, it's a unique bond. I have 2, gave birth to 2. I'm only really close to 1, but really, I can't imagine only having a brother, because he is often such a pain.
Those early pics are wonderful!

I have two sisters and gave birth to two sisters. It is a complicated bond. I love my sisters, but they drive me insane too. I'm sure they'd say the same about me too. Ha ha.

Oh I love this! I grew up wiht a brother and that rascal would NEVER play with my dolls. Those old photos are great girl I'm so glad you shared them. Shawn and I were trying to decide if we wanted another baby. We were just being selfish, but after seeing those photos, I KNOW we gotta have playmates for my little Andrew!
