Our mortgage company has turned down our short sale.
YES! Turned down a legit buyer with cash in hand, and no contingencies. After the agent AND the appraiser agreed it was a great price given the current value of homes in our area.
Here's the kicker - it's all because a local real estate agent told them she thinks she can sell it for $40G's more. Yes, that would be the extra $40G's we offered them LAST FREAKING YEAR!
This agent either:
1. smokes more crack than an LA pimp.
2. has a buyer interested, and wants the whole commission to herself.
3. or stands to make more money selling a foreclosure.
Either way, how completely unethical to trash a local family's credit for a few thousand dollars. And she WON'T sell it for more. All the homes surrounding this one are going for less or sitting empty, and winter is coming on.

I can't stand hearing this. You don't have enough time to get another short sale approved do you? I wish for you that this was just over.

Is there a state agency to which you can report these shenanigans? It seems like someone should be able to DO something about this kind of crap. I'm so sorry to hear that this ordeal is going on even longer...
I think it's time to call your state rep or someone else who could figure this out. This is so ridiculous- someone's not doing their job right or well. So sorry you have to keep on dealing with this. Will this mean you are not moving or will that go on as planned?
Hell yes...name her so others don't give her business. You have to feel like someone is trying to make you go over the edge.

How can they get away with that? If you have the paperwork of your offer last year, and all the rest I would call Amy Klobuchar about this...it is FREAKING ridiculous.
And the banks are using that extra 40K to pay out bonuses - not lend anyone money.

That is so confusing and annoying. I don't even understand it. I'm so sorry that is happening to you.
Seriously, email, call, and write (yes, all three) your state & federal reps. Persistence pays. My husband has done it on at least 2 occasions and got VERY active and prompt responses in our favor. If nothing else, they will tell you who to contact and you can mention who exactly sent you there way. As my husband says, "No one likes Congress to call." Good luck!
