Here's a question for you. What if we lived in a world where everyone had the exact same access to everything: food, clothing, housing, medical care, goods, transportation, education, you get the picture. No one needs money. The only stipulation is that you had to work 20-40 hours per week somewhere. Where would you work?

In a children's bookstore just like the one in "You've Got Mail." But without the whole giant-conglomerate-threatens-to-put-quaint-charming-indie-bookstore-out-of-business part.

Probably something with computers. And sewing. But not automatic sewing machines that do embroidery run by a computer.
Maintaining trails in some National Park.

You know, I'd be pretty happy doing my same job, which is - I hope - a helpful, socially constructive one. That, or maybe researching beer.
Also: Margaret, you are a COMMIE. (Which is good, as far as I'm concerned.)
I'd be a writer, it could be writing for a newspaper or magazine or books, but I would write, with a cup of coffee at my side, happily for 8 hours a day.
My second choice would be to own a little book store, one with comfy chairs and coffee, that just invites patrons to come in and browse more before buying.

I'd probably do some kind of landscaping job. I love physical labor and working outside. Plus, it's creative.
In a national park, but not doing trail maintenance. I'd work on preserving cultural resources (historic structures and landscapes).
